Distillation equipment "is a separation technology carried out under high vacuum conditions, characterized by low distillation temperature, high system vacuum, short heating time of materials, and high degree of separation; And the separation process is irreversible and there is no boiling or bubbling phenomenon. It is especially suitable for separating substances with high boiling point, heat sensitivity and easy oxidation. It has been widely used in the extraction of vitamins and Active ingredient of Chinese herbal medicine in the pharmaceutical industry, petrochemical industry, food industry, cosmetics industry, agriculture and other industries.
Introduction to Distillation Equipment:
1. Falling film molecular still: This device uses gravity to turn the material on the evaporation surface into a liquid film and drop it down. By heating the material, the evaporated material can condense on the opposite condensation surface. The falling film device is an early form with a simple structure. The liquid film formed on the evaporation surface is thick and has poor efficiency, which is rarely used in various countries now.
2. Scraping film molecular distillation device: China only conducted research on the application of scraping film molecular distillation devices and processes in the late 1980s. It uses gravity to turn the material on the evaporation surface into a liquid film and lower it, but in order to make the liquid film thickness on the evaporation surface small and evenly distributed, a rotating scraper made of hard carbon or polytetrafluoroethylene is installed in the distiller. This scraper can not only fully stir the downstream liquid layer, but also accelerate the renewal of the evaporation surface liquid layer, thereby strengthening the heat and mass transfer process of the material. Its advantages are: the liquid film thickness is small and flows along the evaporation surface; The distilled material has a short residence time at operating temperature and a low risk of thermal decomposition. The distillation process can be carried out continuously and has a high production capacity. The disadvantage is that the liquid distribution device is difficult to improve and it is difficult to ensure that all evaporation surfaces are evenly covered by a liquid film; Liquid flow often undergoes rolling, and the resulting mist often splashes onto the condensation surface. However, due to its relatively simple structure and low price, most laboratories and industrial production now use this device.
3. Centrifugal molecular distillation device: This device delivers materials to the center of a high-speed rotating rotating disc and expands to form a thin film on the rotating surface. At the same time, it is heated and evaporated to condense with the opposite condensation surface. This device is currently an ideal molecular distillation device. But compared to the other two devices, it requires a high-speed rotating turntable and higher vacuum sealing technology. Compared with scraper membrane molecular distillation, centrifugal molecular distillation has the following advantages: due to the high-speed rotation of the rotating disc, an extremely thin liquid film can be obtained, and the distribution of the liquid film is more uniform, resulting in better evaporation rate and separation efficiency; The heating time of the material on the evaporation surface is shorter, reducing the risk of thermal decomposition of thermosensitive substances; The processing capacity of materials is greater, making it more suitable for continuous production in industry.
